Option 4 is to put the salt back in the ocean
We asked where the salt would go and this week Dam Kings Beach finally put up their options. Please go and read it yourself because we had to read it a few times. There are four options. Option 1 is leaving it behind the wall, Option 2 is trucks although they do admit there is no road, and Option 3 is selling it, including for curing meat, which we will come back to in another post.
Option 4 is this:
"Collected salt would be released to the ocean through the overflow gates, at a rate that is monitored and publicly reported."
So just so everyone is clear, the plan is to build a $47.2 million concrete wall to stop the salt going into the ocean and then let the salt go into the ocean through a gate. They say this option "has the advantage of simplicity" and we suppose it does, although as far as we can tell it is also more or less what is happening now without the wall.
We're not accusing anyone of anything, we just think people should be aware.
