Kings Beach β Let the salt be π
A few people have asked us how to get to Kings so here is what we know. Please check the National Parks website before you go because they know more than we do and things change.
This is Kings Beach at Broken Head, about 9km south of Byron Bay in NSW. It is not the Kings Beach at Caloundra in Queensland. We have had a couple of emails.
From Byron: go south on Broken Head Road through Suffolk Park. About 2km after Suffolk Park turn left into Broken Head Reserve Road.
From Ballina: go north through Lennox Head on Byron Bay Road for about 12km and turn right into Broken Head Reserve Road.
Keep going past the holiday park and along Seven Mile Beach Road until you see the sign for the Kings Beach car park.
The car park is small and it fills up early so please car pool if you can. It is National Parks so you have to pay at the machine. It was $4 an hour when we last looked, tap and pay by card or phone.
You can't see the beach from the road. It's a steep track through the rainforest with lots of stairs, allow about 15 minutes each way. It gets slippery after rain so wear proper shoes. Sorry, it's not good for prams or if you have trouble with stairs.
Nothing has been approved and nothing has been built. The beach is open as normal. Let's keep it that way π
