Who is behind it? 🤔

A lot of people have asked us who is actually behind Dam Kings Beach, so here is what we know.

Dam Kings Beach's own proposal says it was "Prepared by Dam Kings Beach Inc. with the support of Cham's Small Meats & Preservatives", and calls Cham's their "founding partner". Cham's own website also has a page about Dam Kings Beach and says they are a "founding sponsor" and provide "annual financial support".

Cham's Small Meats & Preservatives sells salami, pancetta and other cured meats. They also sell curing products and preservatives in bulk. Curing is done with salt. You can look at their products yourself at chams.com.au.

We want to be clear that we have nothing against Cham personally. He seems like a nice man and his family business has been around for a long time. Cham has also said himself in his statement that he doesn't understand the proposal.

But we think it is fair to ask:

• Why is a company that makes money from salt so interested in where the salt goes at Kings?
• How much money have Cham's put in so far?
• What happens to the salt that gets collected behind the wall? The proposal says this is "still being assessed".
• Their website says the partnership has been going since 2019. Why did nobody in the community hear about it until this year?

We're not accusing anyone of anything. We just think people should be aware.
