What does the salt want?
This was sent in by the member of our group who works with mycelium. It is not the position of the group but the coordinating circle agreed at the start that we would put up what people send us.
I want to offer this gently, and with the understanding that it may not land for everyone. In my work with mycelium I have come to see that most of what we call problems are relationships that have not yet been listened to, and I have been sitting with the fact that in all of these conversations about Kings, on both sides, we are only ever talking about where we want the salt to go.
Last week I went down before sunrise and sat with the salt for some time, up where it dries on the sand, without asking it for anything. What came up for me, and I hold this lightly, was a kind of tiredness, a sense of something that has been moving for a very long time and is not so much leaving us as going home. I know that is not something you can put in a submission. I also know the people at Dam Kings Beach have a great many spreadsheets, and I do not doubt that they care in their own way.
